Our Program Overview

1. Student Eligibility: High School (Grades 10–12)

Residency Requirement: Eligibility for enrollment in Delta Access is determined by your residence. You must have a Delta postal code to register.

  • Note: Delta Access is for secondary students only; we do not offer courses for elementary students.

Non-Delta Residents (Cross-Enrollment): If you reside outside of Delta or are cross-enrolled with another district, you must take online courses through a Provincial Online Learning School (POLS).

  • Once you find a suitable school, contact them directly regarding their enrollment process.

International Students: International students are subject to a $100 non-refundable tuition fee. Registration must be coordinated through your school counselor and International Liaison/Coordinator.

Counselor Permission: All students currently attending a high school must obtain consent from their school counselor before registering for any online course.


2. Student Eligibility: Adult Learners

Delta Residents (19+): Delta Access is available to all adult Delta residents.

Graduated Adults:

  • Academic Upgrading: Many courses are tuition-free. [View Tuition-Free Courses Here]

  • Fees: Graduated adults (from any jurisdiction) may be subject to a $550 non-refundable fee for courses not covered by Ministry funding.

Non-Graduated Adults & Youth (Under 19): If you are under 19, have not yet graduated, and are not currently attending a BC school, you must contact Delta Community College for an advising appointment to create a Graduation Plan before registering.


3. Registration & Course Timeline

  • What to expect: You will receive an email with login details and instructions within one week of applying.

  • Check your spam: Please check your Junk/Spam folder (especially if you use Hotmail or Outlook).

Course Duration:

  • School Year: Courses run from September to early August.

  • No Extensions: Students cannot extend coursework from one school year into the next. The earlier you begin, the more time you have to complete your work.


4. Student Responsibilities & Policies

To remain enrolled at Delta Access, students must adhere to the following guidelines:

Remain “Active” You must work consistently. “Active” status means submitting assignments at least once every two weeks.

  • Communication: Maintain contact with your teacher via email or phone.

  • Pausing: If you know you cannot submit work for more than 2 weeks, email your teacher immediately so they do not withdraw you for inactivity.

Retaking Courses

  • Failed Courses: If you fail a course, you may re-enroll to try again.

  • Upgrading Marks: We do not allow Delta Access course repeats for the purpose of upgrading a passing mark.

Withdrawals

  • How to Drop: Notify your teacher and the program coordinator via the Add/Drop Form in the menu above.

  • Deadlines: Withdrawal deadlines vary but are typically 4 or more weeks prior to the August completion date.

  • Penalty: Students who withdraw from a course are not permitted to re-take that same course with Delta Access for one full year from the original start date.
