Delta Access is designated by the Ministry of Education as a District Online Learning School (DOLS). As a result, we are only permitted to enroll students who reside within Delta and have a Delta postal code. This requirement is in place regardless of whether students attend a Delta District school in person. This differs from Provincial Online Learning Schools (POLS), such as Surrey’s SAIL program, which are able to register students from anywhere in B.C.
The Ministry has given us until the end of this school year to fully meet this requirement. Because of this, we will no longer be able to offer Delta Access courses to out‑of‑district students after May of this year. Current non-Delta residents are permitted to continue with their current course(s), however, ALL coursework must be completed by May 31, 2026.
Therefore, if this timeline will not work for your student, you have the option to withdraw them from their current course so they can enroll and continue their online learning through a Provincial Online Learning School (POLS) or through the district online school (DOLS) within your home district.
If the address we have on file is incorrect, and should be listed as a Delta address, please contact your home high school to provide the necessary proof of residency documents as soon as possible to update your information in MyEd. Once the address has been updated by your home high school, contact our office and we will ensure our records are adjusted accordingly to match changes on the MyEd system.
We understand this change may be inconvenient, and we sincerely apologize for any frustrations this may cause. Our priority is to ensure that students receive proper credit for their learning while we remain compliant with Ministry expectations. If you have any questions or would like help exploring next steps, please reach out—we are here to support you.
